This survey is based on the bestselling work of David Marcum and Steven Smith in their books businessThink and their new book from Simon & Schuster, egonomics, which was inspired by Jim Collins' work in Good to Great. Their books focus on key measures that separate average teams from high-performing ones: 1) open minds, 2) intense curiosity, 3) water-cooler honesty. Among other things, the survey gives a picture of how well we listen to new ideas, we-centric vs. me-centric we are in the way we work together, how open we are to feedback and how courageous we are to give it, and how well we structure our conversations to invite different points of view to make the best decisions. When we've finished the survey, it will give us a grade and a high-level description of our culture based on our grade.
