LET'S GET STARTED

This team survey gauges how effectively your team communicates and works together. That effectiveness is measured by three key characteristics that separate good teams from great ones:

1) open minds: How open-minded and we-centric your team is in the way they work together. Are people too content? Do they anxiously listen to new ideas? Do they look forward to change? Do people take things too personally in intense debates, or do they separate their identity from their ideas so the best ideas win? What's the level of genuine confidence your team has in the way they perform; not too much confidence, the right balance, or too little?

2) intense curiosity: How inquisitive your team is. Do people think like entrepreneurs, or employees at the driver's license bureau? Are people hungry to learn, or do they think they pretty much know everything they need to know? Are people allowed to go against the grain, or is uniformity and strict hierarchy the rule of the day?

3) water-cooler honesty: The ability and permission people have to speak up about important business issues, and listen openly when someone else speaks who's not at their peer level. Can people speak their minds without fear of being labeled or ignored? Do people hear, and give, feedback so politics don't creep into the workplace? When people do speak up, do they do it tactfully-or in a way that shuts other people down?

When you're done, invite as many people to take the survey as you would like. You can also have other teams or groups take it within your organization as long as there is a unique username. The responses are completely anonymous and the report is confidential. It's yours and yours only.

When taking the survey, answer the questions as it relates to the in-tact team on which you work, or if you're taking the survey on a larger scale (i.e. company or division), answer your questions as they relate to the team you work on most.
